And with a new movie to promote and a hot, young co-star to upstage, Jen did the only thing a self-respecting diva could do she hit the bottle.
Sporting a wispy ash-blonde bob, Aniston has divided critics this week and raised the question: Can a brunette ever go blonde without looking brassy?
As a lifelong brunette, I too have wondered if blondes have more fun.
And finally I decided to find out. My mission is to achieve a classic blonde look that’s more flash than trash.

Colourist to the stars Jo Hansford takes one look at my ruthlessly tinted brown locks and grimaces. “I’ll do my best,” she promises.
Five hours later, I’m on my second tint as we try to lift my colour out of the gloom.
With daylight fading, I am still a strawberry blonde at best.
We decide to call it a night and soften that hint of ginger with dark toner in the morning.
But that means I go home with the equivalent of a high-vis jacket on my head bold, brassy and shining like a beacon, I look like the kind of woman they find murdered on CSI.
My boyfriend gasps in horror and we go to bed not talking.
Ten hours later, I’m at the salon and Jo helps me choose “a colour you can live with”.

Just one final, magical application of colour and I finally have a ‘do I genuinely love.
Softer and far more subtle, this blonde suits my skin tone to a tee. A Jen-uine triumph, I reckon.
